Where's The 'Beef'?!

I am finding with each new episode, that which I loved most about that very first episode of Glee is the same thing that makes it more unbelievable & fake in the context of an on-going television series. I do LOVE a production featuring people who will burst out into song at any given moment - don't get me wrong, But within reason! What's pissing me off about Glee & gives me that tragic sinking feeling that I might have to 'abandon ship'?:

1. The polished pre-recorded studio vocals that simply come across as TOO smooth
with the actors lip-sync along each week.

2. Stiff or slightly awkward dancing from people who should not ever be trying to bust
a move on stage!

3. Glee Coach's inappropriate behavior with the youth, like jumping on & dancing
atop a piano (as if!).

The list goes on. Keep in mind though, that these are observations that I didn't want to embrace at all! Finally, a show on TV again similar to the original Fame series, with song and celebration! Only Glee, in 2009 loses credibility with an unbalanced amount of reality vs fantasy.

I would still give Glee a strong 7.5 out of 10 at this point, but I'm not sure where I'll stand at the end of the next episode. The cast is talented, and it was a great surprise to see the lovely Charlotte Ross (NYPD Blue) on this week's episode. Hope there's more of her & less of the aforementioned cheesiness. Maybe she'll get to sing on camera again.

I do love Ryan Murphy's (Nip/Tuck, Popular) work as a writer/producer and realize he has a unique spin on 'reality', yet, I believe Glee needs to be reigned in a bit. Really, I don't want to lose the Glee; don't want to turn the channel. As it stands, the show is like a solo meal of salad without any meat and potatoes ...
